Cattle Resources:

Vaccinations:

Beef calves 4 months or younger:

Triangle 10 (respiratory/lepto killed vaccine)
Cavalry 9 or other clostridial vaccine (blackleg, tetanus, other clostridial diseases). Other brand names include: Alpha 7, Covexin 8, Vision 7, UltraChoice 8, Ultrabac 7/8, BarVac 7/8
Booster the vaccines according to label and at weaning.
Cows and Bulls:

Triangle 10 (respiratory/lepto killed vaccine) annually
Cavalry 9 or other clostridial vaccine (blackleg, tetanus, other clostridial diseases) annually
Vaccinating with a modified-live vaccine, such as Bovi-Shield Gold, for respiratory diseases is preferred over a killed vaccine. However, this must be done according to the label to prevent undesired side-effects, such as abortions. We are happy to consult with you on other recommendations surrounding the use of modified-live vaccines, vaccines for sexually-transmitted diseases, and the pinkeye vaccine in your herd. Be advised that most vaccines have a 21 day slaughter withdrawal. Please follow all withdrawals listed on the label.

Deworming:

Schedules will vary based on several factors including: the density of animals on your property, grazing conditions, and the age of your animals. Most producers will need to deworm their herds 2-3 times each year, usually in the Spring, Fall, and once during the middle of the grazing season.
